The brief
A two-week studio project asking: can street furniture be humane without being exploitable? Hostile architecture solves the wrong problem loudly.
Process
Sketch exploration → foam-core mockups at 1:5 → a full-scale cardboard rig tested with users on campus. The winning form leans the sitter slightly forward, comfortable for 5–10 minutes and awkward for an hour.
Outcome
A cantilevered seat with a 7° forward tilt and a warm-touch ash surface. No spikes, no dividers — the geometry does the work.
